Stéphan Rasoafanoharana is a Malagasy Canadian composer and producer based in Toronto,
Classically trained in piano from a young age, he later expanded his musical language into production—collaborating with artists across genres and earning multiple Beatbattle victories, including the 2024 Beatkits championship. These wins were paired with mentorship from Gold-certified producer AyyWalker.
He honed his scoring craft under Established composers Sarah Slean and Randolph Peters, refining his sense of narrative and orchestration. He was selected for the Screen Composers Guild of Canada’s Mentorship Program, where he was mentored by award-winning composer Adrian Ellis.
As a Composer for York University Film Productions, Stéphan has become a go-to collaborator for emerging filmmakers, Creating music across a wide range of genres and visual styles. A graduate of York University’s film program himself, he approaches every project with a filmmaker’s intuition—translating ideas, visuals, and emotions into vivid musical narratives
His work spans synth-driven electronic scores, sci-fi and fantasy soundtracks, 8-bit-inspired game music, richly textured orchestral compositions, and more. Rooted in his Malagasy heritage and shaped by international influences, Stéphan creates music that expands the worlds it enters, bringing depth, imagination, and a dynamic, genre-fluid voice to every project.
